How to reach Bucharest

By airplane

Henri Coandă International Airport is the main airport of Bucharest, the capital city of Romania. Please check airport website for further information. Tarom is the Romanian Airline Company, member of the SkyTeam global airline alliance and offers good international flight connections.

By Train

Bucharest has a good railroad connexion with international train through North Railway Station (Romanian: Gara de Nord). The main train operator in Romania is National Railway Company (SNCFR: Societatea Natională a Căilor Ferate Române). A schedule of trains to Bucharest from European countries can be found here.

Local Public Transportation

Bucharest has one of the largest public transport networks in Europe. The surface public transportation is run by the RATB (Regia Autonomă de Transport București) and uses only electronic cards instead of paper tickets. The Conference location is served by the Bus Line no. 136 (Casa Academiei Station). The Metro in Bucharest is run by Metrorex and the closest is Izvor Station on M1 and M3 Line. Taxi services in Bucharest is provided by numerous private firms. Please be noted that the usual (and lowest) taxi fare is 1.39 lei/km (0.35 euro) in town and 3.3-3.5 lei/km (0.80 euro) at the airport.
